In a special hour-long edition I am joined by Lando, The Meena, and my 13 year old brother Theodore to pick the Week 9 games against the spread. We start it off with Lando blasting the Browns and saying they deserve to be disbanded followed by a very weak defense from The Meena. Then, after reviewing Week 8 which led to my AMAZING Norv Turner impression (Lando even recommended I patent it), we all three move on to picking the Week 9 games against the spread.
After we pick all the games, The Meena lays out his complaints against Madden 10 and I come back at him and defend Madden 10 for being the best Madden game to date.
I then finish off the podcast by interviewing my 13 year old brother Theodore and let him pick NFL games against the spread. Keep in mind, he knows absolutely nothing about football. If you want proof, listen to his response when I ask him, “Do you know who Peyton Manning is?”
So, sit back and enjoy this intense, orgiastic, 3 way sandwich of a podcast.

Vince Young looked really, really good yesterday. However, he only threw 18 times and Chris Johnson had a record day. So how much can we look into Vince’s play? Let’s discuss.
Vince did everything he was asked to.
Vince played exceptionally well against the Jaguars. Except for one pass, he was really accurate and made the correct decision just about every play. On the Nate Washington TD pass alone I saw Vince do things I haven’t ever seen him do before:
Read the defense as tight man coverage.
Highlighted Washington as the guy to go to.
Anticipated the route with the throw.
Threw a fade route PERFECTLY on target.
I seriously don’t recall him doing all of that so well. I’m not saying he hasn’t made great throws or plays, but on this one it was different because it felt and looked like he knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Very impressive. So what does it mean?
It means that the discussion of whether Vince can be the Quarterback of the future is open. These next nine games have a lot of meaning and a lot riding on them. A lot more than a 1-6 team would normally have riding on their final 9 games. However, for him to be declared Quarterback of the Future I need to see consistency but also a some production in some different situations. Here are the things I personally want to see him do before I will become a full believer: (more…)
So the Tennessee Titans get their first win of the season 8 weeks in. That’s rough. However, we won. That’s good. I actually didn’t even know how I should format this Posse Review because I realized all of my formatting is based off of games we lost. So.. here it goes.
How the Titans Won
Offensive Playcalling: Mike Heimerdinger finally got his head out of his ass and made play calls that made sense in the moment they happened. No 3rd and 1 bombs. No 3rd and 8 draw plays. He even used LenDale White to kill time late in the game. GOOD JOB COACH. YOU AREN’T A TOTAL MORON.
Chris Johnson – god of War: Chris Johnson played like a man possessed. I have now seen him do twice what no other Runningback in the league can do, except maybe Adrian Peterson. It isn’t just speed either. Reggie Bush is fast, he isn’t doing this. Darren McFadden can’t seem to get anything going in Oakland. Chris Johnson is the complete package. He can (although doesn’t often, but he can) run tough. He sees the hole and he hits it. HARD. He puts pressure on the defense to be in perfect position or else he will make them pay. Also, his ability to accelerate after breaking a tackle (like his 89 yard run yesterday) is amazing.
Vince Young played under control: I will be doing a whole post on his play and what the Titans should expect from him and such, so for this review all I will say is he did everything he was asked of him and more. His decision making was really, really impressive. He kept the offense on the field, even on drives that didn’t end in scoring he would get 2-3 first downs. This was huge for our defense.
Defense played better: Rod Hood – 7 year veteran from Philadelphia and Arizona – came in on short notice and played really, really well. Hood > Harper. Much better. Vandenbosch finally got a sack. Jason Jones looked fierce. Thornton was blowing plays up. At this point I would like to mention that THIS is what the Titans defense can do in spurts. The secret? Keeping them off the field. And the Titans did that. The defense was only on the field for 21 minutes. And it showed. Outside of the two runs by Maurice Jones-Drew which could serve as great examples on how NOT to tackle, the defense played well.
Titans scored more points than the Jaguars: The key to winning any game in the NFL.
Just got done celebrating this win with Lando by drinking alcohol. I STILL FEEL THE RUSH OF WINNING!!! I am so in love with the Titans right now. Or maybe it’s the Jack Daniels.
The greatest thing I have ever been wrong about is Vince Young not looking good in this game. To honor that we are going to declare this week Vince Young Victory Week!!!
