Surprise! Bud Adams wants Vince Young to start

October 27th, 2009 by Rogersworthe | 3 Comments | Filed in Tennessee Titans

HEY!! LOOK!!! Bud Adams wants Vince Young to start!! He just said it!!!… a week ago.

This annoys the shit out of me. Adams doesn’t see Vince in practice. He doesn’t see him in film study. He probably doesn’t even talk to Vince that often. He’s 86 years old. Yet he knows who should start?

This won’t end well with Vince. When the owner starts dictating from on high it rarely, if ever, ends well.

And don’t cite 2006. How’d that work out for Vince long term? Think he could’ve used some more time for development and not have as much pressure on him? Think that might have helped a bit?

Vince is being set up to fail again... and he will.

Weekend Poll: How many games with the Titans win this year?

October 23rd, 2009 by Rogersworthe | No Comments | Filed in Tennessee Titans

So, here we are. 10 games left in the season. No wins. Lost 59-0. So, for this weekend poll, I ask: How many wins will the Titans achieve this year?

I’m going with 3-4 wins. What can I say, I’m an optimist.

How many games will the Tennessee Titans win in 2009?

Lightspeed Links: Jeff Fisher has a hilariously twisted sense of humor

October 20th, 2009 by Rogersworthe | No Comments | Filed in Lightspeed Links

Music City Miracles just posted this about Jeff Fisher going to the Rocketown Lunch in a Peyton Manning jersey where he said said, “I just wanted to feel like a winner.”

I know a lot of fans will be up in arms about this, but… I find it really funny.

I should add that I wish he hadn’t done this because fans are myopic and will take this personally and say he shouldn’t be joking when his team was 0-6. It causes another distraction around the team and certainly doesn’t help.

However, in regards to my opinion on his future here as a Tennessee Titan, 59-0 sways me MUCH more than this. So does how the rest of this season plays out. And it’s funny. It just is. Self deprecating to the core. Just a funny, funny thing to do.

Enjoy the laugh, Fisher. It may be your last as a head coach in Tennessee.

Posse Review: Titans vs. Patriots Week 6

October 19th, 2009 by Rogersworthe | No Comments | Filed in Posse Review

This was, by far, the worst game of football I have ever witnessed. EVER.

Captain Douche destroyed my team... so much pain...

Captain Douche destroyed my team... so much pain...

This, obviously, is the worst Titans team ever. The team has a horrible mix of old, useless veterans and young rookies who are not ready for NFL competition. This game reflected that in every way it could.

Defense

Holy shit. 59 points. I know that the team was trotting out 3 Rookie CBs, but regardless, at SOME POINT in that onslaught in the 2nd Quarter, did anybody think, “You know, maybe instead of running the same busted scheme that has been KILLING us all season, lets blitz the ever living shit out of these assholes and see if maybe we can make a play in the snow. If they complete a pass for a bunch of yards, who gives a fuck? They’re doing that anyways.” Anybody think that? ANYBODY???

Obviously the Titans don’t have the talent to have a top defense. But I really think the defensive scheme being used right now might be the worst defensive scheme to use for the Titans current defensive personnel. How they keep trotting out 4 rushers and 7 in coverage week after week after week and accept getting COMPLETELY torched is beyond me. Some severe disconnect is going on.

Anyone miss the days of barely losing to the Texans?

October 18th, 2009 by Rogersworthe | 4 Comments | Filed in Tennessee Titans

59-0. Is it sad I long for the days of barely losing to the Texans?

This was seriously a disaster of epic proportions and proves we are officially the WORST team in football.

2 completions. For -7 yards. Those are officially the worst stats for passing in the modern era.

What does one even say after a debacle like this? Any ideas?

If Vince Young plays, hold back on expectations

October 13th, 2009 by Rogersworthe | No Comments | Filed in Tennessee Titans

I have called for Vince Young to play for roughly two weeks. Kerry Collins has been really, really bad. As stated before, I understood why Coach Fisher stuck by McNair earlier this decade. He was the Quarterback of the future and at some point if you believe a talent will develop you have to stand by him through hard times. However, I do not get what he is standing by now by sticking with Collins. Kerry is not the QB of the future, and apparently he is not the QB of the present. However, if Vince does play, what should we expect?

Ah yes... that famous throwing motion that pushed the limits of my sanity in 2007

Ah yes... that famous throwing motion that pushed the limits of my sanity in 2007

My answer? Not much.

Kerry Collins has been bad. Really bad. This has been well documented everywhere. But he isn’t any worse of a passer than Vince Young was in 2007.

So, based on what we’ve seen in the preseason and his past play along with Jeff Fisher’s reluctance to play him (he is one of the few who sees him in practice every day), I wouldn’t expect much more than Vince Young to be Kerry Collins with a few extra first downs picked up on scrambles. Until he proves otherwise, we need to hold back on the expectations on Vince.

Blogger Wars: Titans vs. Colts

October 9th, 2009 by Rogersworthe | 5 Comments | Filed in Blogger Wars

So this week on Blogger Wars I battled with Airaser, a regular commenter on this site and avid World of Warcraft nerd. So without further ado, I present, the battle of Rogersworthe and Airaser:

Rogersworthe:

So, I recognize I have little ammo and a horrible team to back up versus Peyton “Zeus” Manning, but alas, I live to fight again, and I shall explain why the Titans will win:

1) Blue Out. A term used in a hospital to declare someone dead. This reference? The Colts. Watch out for the Blue Out, baby horses.

2) Pierre Garcon ain’t gonna do it forever.

3) Can the Colts go 5-0 without a run game? I don’t think so. That shit catches up to a team at some point.

4) Ball control. The Titans still theoretically have the ability to control the ball and I feel like this game, the Titans will run it down the sissy, undersized Colts Defenses throat.

5) 0-5? I doubt it. Karma is with the Titans.

6) Your mascot, as documented by Spizz, has down syndrome. T-Rac would destroy it, and that momentum will carry over to the football field.

Take your shot, Airaser. I await…

Airaser, however was undaunted and actually took a good shot back, which he should have because, well, he has a lot more ammunition than I do. (more…)
