Posse Preview: Super Bowl 44 – Colts vs. Saints

February 5th, 2010 by Rogersworthe | Filed under Posse Preview, Super Bowl.

Here it is, what you have all been waiting for… the last Posse Preview of the season! Admit it. You’ve been waiting. Well… lets get down to business, shall we?

How the Saints win the game: Offense. Offense. Offense. I think the Saints will need a 35+ point output to win. Luckily for them, that is possible. But it’s not just the points, it’s the consistency. If they put up 28 points before the half but then repeat the 2nd half they had against the Vikings, they’ll still lose. They need two consistent halves of moving the ball, eating up clock, and scoring touchdowns.

They also will have to somehow win the turnover battle. Since that is mainly luck though, hard to plan on that.

Come on buddy, win one for a random Titans fan blog!!

How the Colts win the game: Peyton Manning plays really well. And that’s it. I think it is that simple. The Colts have the advantage because if the Saints play their best game and the Colts play their best game, the Colts win. So the only way the Colts lose is if the Saints play well and either Peyton does something stupid or a fluke fumble or something.

LOSE!! CHOKE!! DO SOMETHING BAD!!! I HATE YOU!!

Best Case Scenario: Peyton Manning’s first 3 passes are INTs and this game mirrors the NY Giants vs. NO Saints game from Week 6. The Saints go on to win 55-10 and Peyton Manning retires from grief. That would be awesome.

Worst Case Scenario: Colts win and they declare the Lombardi trophy the Manning trophy and Peyton signs up for another 50 different commercials, then him and Tom Brady become the first high profile gay celebrity couple and EVERY NEWS OUTLET writes about their amazing story.

Official Prediction: Saints win 38-35. They have the ball last with 2:06 left and Drew Brees orchestrates the game winning drive. WHO DAT nation erupts in joy and New Orleans is saved.

Please Saints. Win it for me.
