Man 2-6 has never felt so good.
The Titans are 2-0 with Vince Young under center. And he has never looked better for us. But just how good is he? The 49ers aren’t exactly world beaters. Same goes for the Jags. So as Rogersworthe usually does a wrap up for the Titans as a team after each week, I’m going to be taking a closer look at VY’s performance. So finish your mushrooms Frodo, cause we’re headed to Weathertop.
Impressed With:
- No turnovers. Vince seems determined to not turn the ball over. Which is a good, good thing. That’s been one of the many things that has killed us all year. Costly picks and fumbles lost us at least two games. Keep up the sting good buddy.
- Running seems to be his second option now. Long gone are the days when Vince would drop back, and then immediately roll out and inevitably throw a pick while getting hurt, and contemplate the meaning of life over a bucket of chicken. The only time he ran with it was a designed draw or option.
- No suicidal chicken runs.
- When we are on the ten yard line, no one is more dangerous than Chris Johnson and Vince Young. Vince’s first TD run was a great design. And if he continues to pass well defenses can’t just gear up against the run.
- Last but not least, it looks like he’s taking this more seriously. It was a good thing for him to be benched for a year. I think he used the time to grow up a little. Every time they show Vince on the sidelines between drives he’s always talking to Dinger and going over pictures, plays, or whatever. I have to admit I’ve been pretty impressed with him.

Calling the play while he's throwing. Not even Peyton can do that.
Concerns:
- Still not accurate down the field. The one throw where Gage made that scrumptrelescent catch was all Gage. The ball was horribly under thrown. Just like the one before.
- The 49ers have an awesome run defense. Pass defense? Not so much. Vince has yet to throw for 200 yards. It’s hard to judge when he’s able to game manage the whole time.
- As Rogersworthe has stated, I wonder how he plays when Chris Johnson doesn’t run for 453 yards per game. Just curious.
All in all, Vince has done exactly what we’ve needed him to do. Since CJ continues to be beastly, we just need him to come out and play mistake free ball. Which he has done. But I personally feel that Vince has not yet been tested against a good defense that is able to shut CJ down and force him to make plays. Other than that, keep up the good work.

I know that Vince hasn't lit the world on fire, but everything he has done has been right for the Titans right now.
Completely agree, but I do want to see what he does on a week Chris Johnson gets shut down. Coming from behind and finding a way to win when your best player gets shut down are two things elite NFL teams and Quarterbacks can do. I would like Vince to prove he can.
I agree as well. I've been impressed with Vince so far. This is the best he's looked for us. Ever. As Roger said, I'm curious to see how he performs when Chris Johnson isn't torching the other team. Maybe we won't have to find out, cause Johnson is a beast, but we need to see how much he has improved. This season is still kinda shot in my eyes, and we need to figure out what our moves are going to be for the future
