Top 10 Titans: Wide Receivers

June 17th, 2009 by Rogersworthe | Filed under Top 10 Titans.

Inspired by a discussion on Music City Miracles about Kevin Dyson being a top 10 receiver in Titans history, it got me to thinking “Who are the top 10 players in Titans history by position?” So, during the extremely boring period of after NBA finals but before training camp (also known as “baseball season” which is also known as HELL) I will be comin’ at ya with the lists of top 10 Titans of all time.

Here are the rules and guidelines: This is TITANS history so it only includes players who played in Nashville and wore a Titans jersey while here. That’s all the rules. ONTO THE LIST!!

Top 10 Wide Receivers of Titans History:

1) Derrick Mason – Despite turning into a total dick in Baltimore (a disease that is covered here in T-Rac’s Circle of Hatred), he was a damn fine receiver and a guy we let go way too soon. Damn good.

2) Drew Bennett – For now, we kinda have to put him here. He had one season of very high caliber play. Well, that’s good enough for number 2. This list is weak.

3) Justin Gage – I don’t care what statistics and logic say, Justin Gage is a better receiver than Kevin Dyson, dammit!! My trump card is this: There is no freakin’ way Gage doesn’t get into the end zone from a yard out in the Superbowl. Period. I SAID GOOD DAY!!

4) Chris Sanders – I’m stickin’ it to Dyson for that one yard. Fuck you, Dyson.

5) Kevin Dyson – Fine. You made the top 5 you son of a bitch. You happy?? Damn yard. If it wasn’t for the Music City Miracle, I’d find a way to keep you off this list.

Fuck you!! Gage would've gotten there!!! Music City Miracle be damned!!

You're bumped to # 5 for this, you pussy.

6) Justin McCareins – Yeah. he’s number 6. Think about that.

/brain melts and leaks out through nose

Edit: Pinoy Titan pointed out Brandon Jones was missing. He goes ahead of a rookie, he just has to. Thanks Pinoy for the correction. See ya, Tyrone Calico!!

7) Brandon Jones – I thought you were quite talented, and I really don’t see why you were let go. Please don’t make us hate you and make the probowl.

8)Kenny Britt – career stats 0 Rec 0 TD’s 0 Yds 0 YAC. Goin on potential here, don’t let me down.

9) Eddie Berlin – ‘03 and ‘04 combined season stats: 21 rec 328 yds 2 tds. This guy is easily number 9. No contest. What a hoss.

10) Eric Moulds – Give the vet some cred. More Receptions and yards than Berlin. Only reason he didn’t beat him out for number 8? 0 TD’s. Gotta get in the end zone if you wanna beat out Eddie “blitzkrieg” Berlin.

Our next list? no idea. Possibly QB’s. Looong list of great Titans QB’s let me tell you.

  3. nashvillian says:

as long as players who have never seen a snap are making the list, where nate washington? at least he’s played in the nfl.

  4. Rogersworthe says:

Yeah but we didn’t draft him, and in the arbitrary rules I made up myself, that counts. He’s still a Steeler in terms of NFL history until he does something for the Titans.

This is fuckin’ hilarious. Although you lost all credibility putting Justin McSuckins on here! Paul Williams and Chris Davis do not approve….

  6. Rogersworthe says:

Oh c’mon. Remember the day when McSuckins was McNair’s go to deep threat? The Jets signed him for a reason. And we let him go for a reason, but still. He was once pretty good.

  7. Big Dog says:

What about Frank Whycheck. he was a tight end but he was our best reciever

True, but it’s technically a different position. Sort of like how Ed Reed for the Ravens is the best at INT’s, but he still can’t be considered one of the best Cornerbacks in the league.

wtf man kevin dyson number 2 gage wouldn’t even make to the 3 he is not as quick or fast as plus dyson has better hands

  10. Danny says:

Carl Pickens must’ve been right there on the bubble

    Who?

  12. eric says:

what would have made this more compelling would have been a 10-1 countdown. i’m going on record to suggest you do that with future positions. also, i would have combined TE with WR making wycheck easily #1.

  13. Stephen says:

Where’s David Givens? He has to be on here.
